The elegant CS coupés are among the milestones of BMW - not least because of the fantastic silky smooth six-cylinder engine. The cars were built at Karmann between November 1968 and December 1975 under contract to BMW.

The Scuderia Sportiva Colonia has paid special attention to these elegant and technically mature coupés. In our view, especially these BMW sports cars deserve even more attention. The ravishing shape, the excellent chassis, the very good brakes ,and the powerful engine were the measure of all things in the early 70s. The interior pampers the owner with luxurious materials, the seats are comfortable with acceptable lateral support and the VDO instruments are a feast for the eyes. A perfect sports car to see and be seen with unmistakable DNA from its very successful touring car history.

This very nice CS was first delivered in Germany in 1973 with sunroof and black leather interior.

About 15 years ago it was restored and repainted to its current colour. Originally it was delivered in fjord metallic. The restoration was carried out some years ago and the Scuderia Sportiva Colonia found corrosion on the underbody, spare wheel well and sills during their takeover check and replaced or repaired them. Now this vehicle has a decent substance again and is ready for use as a "daily driver". A total of four previous owners could be identified. All of them took good care of the vehicle, as the excellent, presumably original leather upholstery and carpet testify. The steering wheel also corresponds to the original delivery, as do the contemporary original BMW 14" alloy wheels with the original chrome covers. The perfectly shaped VDO round instruments are complemented by an oil thermometer. A Philips radio/cassette player is responsible for the entertainment, but is hardly ever switched on, because the beguiling sound of the silky smooth engine, with the optimally adjusted carburettor, enraptures the real enthusiast. The 4-speed gearbox harmonises perfectly with the 180 hp engine. A touch of patina currently surrounds this BMW icon. The sporty chassis and the brakes perform precisely - as is customary with BMW. This 3.0 CS is also equipped with manual front windows and electric rear windows. A wonderful 4-seater coupé, ready for the comfortable or, if desired, the sporty drive.

In our opinion, despite price increases in recent years, BMW E9s are still undervalued and we expect further potential for appreciation. All in all, this is a wonderful coupé with a breathtaking design true to the motto: BMW Aus Freude am Fahren.
