Fahr D 177 vintage tractor

The Fahr D 177 was built from 1958 to 1961 and was the result of a collaboration with Güldner. The normal D 177 corresponds to the Güldner A4M Toledo. The high-speed version D 177 S corresponds to the Güldner A4MS Toledo.

Technical features

The tractor was powered by a Daimler-Benz water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 1767 cc and an output of 34 hp. This engine was actually developed for trucks and was also used in the Unimog. The transmission was produced by ZF and has a total of eight forward and four reverse gears. These are divided into the three groups arable, road and reverse, so four gears per group.

This allows the D 177 to reach a top speed of 20 km/h. In the D 177 S high-speed version, all gears were simply longer, and so it reached a top speed of over 27 km/h. In total, over 7,000 were built in just three years of production, mostly of the high-speed version, many of which tractors still exist today.
