David Brown vintage tractors

David Brown is from Britain and built tractors between 1939 and 1983. The yellow-red and later white-brown colour of the tractors is particularly striking. In Germany, David Brown tractors have a good reputation because they are very robust and reliable.

Long history in England

The David Brown name dates back to the company's founder in 1860 in England. The first tractor was introduced in 1939 and built shortly afterwards. After World War II, production resumed and the range of tractors expanded. In 1965, the colour scheme was changed from yellow-red to white-brown. In 1972, David Brown's tractor division was sold and absorbed into the Case Group. Since 1983, tractors have been produced under the Case logo and David Brown has disappeared from the tractor market completely.

Availability and supply of spare parts

Although David Brown tractors are very rare in the Netherlands, some are sold from time to time. They are often still regularly used in agriculture as farm tractors or used for logging.

If you find one for sale, it is often the 770, 780, 880 or 990. Parts supply is good, most parts can be ordered over the internet in the UK if necessary.
